Collaboration with violinist Mikko-Ville Luolajan-Mikkola

Reija Lang has collaborated with the well known Finnish classical/jazz violinist Mikko-Ville Luolajan-Mikkola for four years. Lang & Luolajan-Mikkola Quintet is their joint artistic effort. He has played first violin at the Metropolitan Opera and he was selected as Artist of the Year 2004 at the Savonlinna Opera Festival. He has also been selected several years as the best jazz violinist in Finland.

Collaboration with trumpet player Mika Mylläri and Opera Big Band

In addition to Lang & Luolajan-Mikkola quintet, Reija Lang has performed as a soloist with the Opera Big Band of the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki both 2004 and 2005. In autumn 2004 she created a spectacular performance "Clockwork Rendez-Vous" together with internationally known Finnish trumpet player and composer Mika Mylläri. Mika arranged the tunes of Eric Dolphy, Wayne Shorter & Mal Waldron - based on Reija´s lyrics. This concert got praising feedback due to its fresh and artistic charactere and unconventional energy. Reija and Mika have also written songs together.
